Maintenance Services

Maintenance, Repair, Service, & Installations:

If your car is anywhere in the Metro Atlanta North Georgia area and needs any level of mechanical work minor or major, Route 66 Restorations Inc is the place to bring it.  We have a zero defects policy and reputation.  We specialize in correcting brake problems, especially drum brakes, front end suspension, rough running engine, rich/lean problems, electrical, running hot, leaks, A/C repairs and installation, etc.  Anything that would be part of a complete restoration we do as an individual diagnosis and repair/installation.   Here's a small sampling of North Georgia, Metro Atlanta vehicles that come in for regular maintenance or major mechanicals.  References are available upon request.

Just a little bit about us

Unlike other shops who's mainstay is to perform mechanical or collision work on modern "daily drivers", and then pose a few old cars in their shop to lure the classic/custom/collector car owner in, we do nothing but repair and restore collector cars every day, all day.  We repair/maintain/restore absolutely nothing but vehicles older than 1985, and do it better than anyone else.   We have to.  This is a luxury niche business and we can't make any mistakes.  If the "daily driver" Mechanical Repair Shop, or the everyday Collision Paint & Body shop damages your vehicle and or doesn't follow-up and correct a yet unresolved problem, what do they care if you don't come back - someone else will take your place the same day.

Rates, and How Your Project is Handled

For a restoration, or major repair/rebuild, the labor rate is variable and governed by the task. Some examples are:

  • $45.00/hr for tasks such as block sanding and basic body work where there will be alot of hours logged
  • $85.00/hr for Non Maintenance Club Major Mechanical Repairs and or Assembly Building/Rebiulding
  • $65.00/hr for Maintenance Club Major Mechanical Repairs and or Mid Range or Basic Assembly/Rebuilding
  • For major mechanical repairs and or rebuild, and long term restoration projects a separate named bank account is set up for your project into which your working capital is deposited. That funding is not touched unless labor and or parts/services are invoiced that week for your project. Your money is used for your project only, and your funds are not part of a general fund.

    Shop the Competition:

We urge you to shop the competition, and chances are you'll come here. Quite a few of the projects we've done or have underway have been to other shops in the area and they just couldn't resolve the issue or finish the project. They come here and the problems are resolved and or the project is finished. Give us a call or just drop by. We'll be happy to show you everything and discuss how can take you project from gathering dust to making someone eat your dust as you drive trouble free and shiney down the road!
