This is a 1971 Mercedes 350SL Gray Market car that was sent up from south Georgia.  It is receiving several mechanical repairs in addition to extensive rust repair and paint and body work.

It can be seen that there are several layers of paint and body work built up on the car.  In it's past life, the entire car had been skimmed with 1/4 inch of filler, which had cracked over time.*nbsp; Filler was also placed directly over rusty areas which had, of course, blossomed and blistered heavily under all of the filler.

We stripped the car down to bare metal and started fresh.  The rusty areas have been ground, treated, sealed, and filled so that rust should not be a problem again.  The car received the normal treatment of being epoxy primed, bad spots repaired as necessary, high build primed, wet sanded, colored, clear coated, wet sanded, and buffed.
