These suicide door Lincolns are really cool. This one came to us after a
competitor had it and said you just can't get parts for these. The owner of
the car had just bought the car, drove it about 10 miles and the pedal went to the
floor. The front rotors and pads were so thin that on a brake application a
piston blew out of the four piston calipers. The proportioning valve was, of
course, full of sludge so it's piston couldn't move to divert the pressure. Luckily
he still had a funtioning E-brake.
We did a full brake rebuild to include rebuilding both (yes, that's right, two) proportioning
valves. A new master cylinder, new rotors, new calipers, hard and soft lines, all
new pads, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, adjusters, inner and outer tie rods, and upper and
lower ball joints.
The car is red w/ black interior and we had it ready for the big Georgia - Georgia Tech game
as the owner is a Georgia graduate. If you want it done right, and safe, especially
brakes and suspension, bring it here to Route 66 Restorations, Inc.
