This really nice looking truck came to us with a knocking motor and neglected brake and
suspension maintenance. The previous shop that worked on this engine didn't understand
oil flow at the oil filter adapter and left a plate in there that should have been removed, thus
restricting oil flow. As a result, it threw a rod, gouged up the crank and a
cylinder.
That terrible design single exhaust that crosses over on the top front of the engine is soon
to be replaced with ceramic coated shortie Red's Headers as the owner is considering lowering
the truck. It's amazing how much heat that crossover adds right there at the upper
radiator hose. These headers really look great under the hood on this engine.
The engine has been rebuilt, along with the carb, radiator, distributor,
transmission (replaced input & output bearings) and the driveshaft has been re-tubed. We also replaced the vacuum wipers with an electric replacement. The
truck runs and drives beautifully. The owner is very happy with it and drives it everywhere.
