Man, what a cool car! We really like working on these Southwestern Cars. We can get into forward progress immediately without having to cut
through rust. The bother of the owner of the 58 Thunderbird that we did major mechanicals on was so impressed with what we did,
that he found this 51Caddie and said "do it for me too!"
We were able to get it running enough and test drive it to give is some basic baseline tests and establish various mechanical reference points before we tore into the major tasks:
- Engine Rebuild (Complete & Installed)
- Brake and Suspension Rebuild (waiting parts shipment as of 27APR06)
- Rewire entire car with Highway 22 GM Blade Fuse box system (95% Complete)
- Convert electrical to 12 Volt (85% Complete)
- Convert Hydraulic Windows to Electric (Complete as of 27APR06)
- Convert Hydraulic Power Seat to Electric
- Exhaust System (Complete)
Well, no job too small, and we're already underway. While the 331 is being rebuilt we're working the other tasks in parallel.
