This car really is a rare beauty. Straight 8. Stylish horsehair interior and Fluid Drive. It came to Route 66 Restorations Inc for both cosmetic and mechanical work. It needed all of the door and trunk rubber replaced, which included rust treatment and painting of the door backsides and the truck lip. It was also in dire need of new steel brake lines and soft lines at all four corners, to include replacing all four shocks.
The first fun task was stripping off what appears to have been roofing tar, applied in an ill fated attempt to seal the doors. What a mess!
After rust treatment and priming/painting came the fun task of applying the unformed door seals around all four doors. Since these doors have compound curves in many places, and the seals are applied with adhesive, it was only possible to work a few inches at a time.
